Guide to Admin Access Management
Access level for Admins
Our system has four levels of administrative access, each tailored to specific roles:
Administrator:
- Full access to the admin portal.
- Capabilities include monitoring metrics, downloading user data, accessing marketing materials, editing and adding content, and managing the student experience.
Contributor:
- Ability to edit and add content to the platform.
Coordinator:
- Access to download marketing materials.
Custom:
- Configurable access that may combine any of the above permissions.
Custom permissions
Users – Access to entire Users tab — ability to invite and manage all types of users.
- Admins – Access to add and manage admin users.
- Alumni – Access to add and manage alumni users.
- Students – Access to add and manage student users.
- Staff & Faculty – Access to add and manage Staff & Faculty users.
- Pending Requests – Access to approve and deny pending requests from students and alumni.
Post – Access to the entire Post tab – ability to post on the entire platform.
- Home Feed – Ability to edit home feed (pin, archive, and add new posts).
- Jobs & Internships – Access to post jobs and internships, invite employers, and manage RSS feed.
- Webinars & Events – Ability to add new webinars, edit existing ones, add new categories, and manage RSS feed.
- Resources – Ability to reorganize, add, and edit resources.
- Student Services – Ability to reorganize, add, and edit student services.
- Career Gameplan – Ability to edit the NACE Career Gameplan sections, resources, and links.
- Checklists – Ability to reorganize, add, and edit checklists.
- Promote – Ability to add new promotions to the carousel on the main home dashboard.
Engage – Access to entire Engage tab.
- Marketing Assets – Access to marketing hub (brand assets, student brochures, email templates, and promotional videos).
- Metrics – Access to the main dashboard metrics.
Communication – Access to Chat and Community.
- Chat – Access individual or group messages within your international student network.
- Community – Access to Community tab to create a post and comment on existing posts.
Meet – Access to entire Meet tab.
- Calendar – Access to sync your existing calendars and allow students to schedule meetings with you (virtually or in-person) directly through the Interstride portal.
- Advisors – Access to invite other staff members to sync their calendars and allow scheduling (example: ISSS, Career Services, Alumni Relations).
Manage – Ability to turn on or off any features on the platform.
Controls in Place:
- Human controls: We track and log all edits made to the platform, including the identity of the user making the changes.
- Technical controls: Role-based access management ensures that users only have permissions appropriate for their roles.
- Oversight: In the event of misuse, our logging system enables the identification of the individual responsible for inappropriate activity.
